REV. W. A. BYARS

FORDYCE, Nov. 4 -- (Spl) -- Rev. W. A. Byars, 64, Baptist minister, died at his home in Cullendale Friday night. Born in Calhoun County, he had lived in this vicinity all his life.

He became a Baptist minister at the age of 25 and has served a number of churches near here. At the time of his death he was a member of the First Baptist Church at Cullendale.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Docia Bunn [sic Dunn] Byars; two sons Carl Byars of Baxter Springs, Kansas and Cecil Bryars of Cullendale; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Ellis of Fordyce, Mrs. Betty Cottrell of El Dorado, Mrs. Sue Parker of Memphis and Mrs. Fred Ragsdale of Camden; three grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon from the First Baptist Church in Cullendale, conducted by the Rev. Elmer Morgan, assisted by the Rev. Tom Harris. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
