William Arthur McCarty, Jr.
Services for Mr. William Arthur McCarty, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Rev. David Cranford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. McCarty, 82, of Pineville died Friday, April 4 2003 in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Tioga, an Army veteran of WWII, serving during the Normandy Invasion and received a Bronze Star and a Medal of Valor. Mr. McCarty retired with 35 years of service at England Air Force Base.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Harris and parents, William McCarty, Sr. and Carrie Scroggs McCarty and sister, Mary McCarty.
Those left to herish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Edna Arden McCarty of Pineville; daughters, Judith Matayo-shi of San Francisco, California, Kay Costantino and husband, Raymond of Ball and Janelle Boney and husband, Milton of Alexandria; son-in-law, Donald L. Harris of San Antonio, Texas; brother, George W. McCarty, Sr. of Deville; sister Peggy Joyce Parrish of Madill, Oklahoma; grandchildren Gregory F. Morrison, Chris Costantino, Russell F. Boney, Shannon L. Boney, Nicole Costantino Day, Justin L. Harris and Greg L. Harris; great-grandchildren Ashley L. Trisler and Christopher Heath Costantino.
Friends may all Sunday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
