William Barber

Funeral rites for William Barber, 79, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Horace Magness and Rev. Ted Johnson officiated. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.

Barber, a native of Noble, La., died in Panola General Hospital last Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, Vernie of Carthage; three sons, Thomas P. of California, Vernon E. of Fredericksburg, Va., and James W. of Longview; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Capps of Carthage.

Also ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
