William M. ``Bill'' Borden Jr.
FORT WORTH -- William M. ``Bill'' Borden Jr., 89, a retired ice man, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at a local care center.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Living Water Church (formerly Zion Temple Assembly of God) in Fort Worth. Burial: Laural Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Bill was born Jan. 29, 1914, in Mount Peak. He was a founding member and deacon of Zion Temple Assembly of God Church where he was a singer and musician. He delivered ice in downtown Fort Worth for 47 years for Crystal Arlington Heights Ice Company where he was well-known by many downtown merchants or persons in all levels of society. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Alta Fay, in 1989; parents, Violet and William; brothers, Lawrence, Leon, Lawson, Jim, Earl, Fred and Woodrow; and sisters, Betty, Leona, and Ruby.
Survivors: Son, William Martin Borden III and wife, Donna, of Haltom City; daughters, Virginia Ann Farmer and husband, James LaVoy, of Fort Worth and Darla Mitchell and husband, Terry, of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, LaVonna, Wade, Jill, Michael, Melissa, Marty and Scott; great-grandchildren, Laura, Jennifer, SaVannah, Andrew, Savannah and James; sister, Edith Bryant of Fort Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
