Blanks Whittington Rites Are Held At Old Bethel Last Sunday

Funeral services for Blanks Whittington, 89-year-old Columbia resident, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Old Bethel Baptist Church, about four miles west of Clarks, with the Rev. I. O. Dunn officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Whittington died on Sunday morning in The Haven Nursing Home in Columbia Heights after a short illness.

Survivors include one son, Billy O. Whittington of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Dunn, Grayson; one brother, Charlie Whittington of near Grayson; four sisters: Miss Elma Whittington, Mrs. Alice Nelson and Miss Maggie Whittington of near Grayson; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clifton Nelson, Pete Whittington, Michael Scott, Clyde Pauley, Henry Whittington and Elbert Pauley.
