William Bud Tart

William Bud Tart of Coats, a 77-year-old native of Johnston County, died Sunday morning in North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

The funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cary Watkins officiating and interment following in Banner Chapel Church Cemetery near Benson.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillar Byrd Tart; four daughters, Mrs. Maxie Grimes, Mrs. Part Jones and Mrs. Vernon McLamb of Route 1, Coats, and Mrs. Melvin Grimes of Route 3, Dunn; four sons, Alton Dunn of Route 1, Benson, Walter Mack, Leroy, and Jarvis Tart of Route 1, Coats; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Stewart of Benson and Mrs. Phoebe Stewart of Route 1, Benson; one brother, Ira B. Tart of Benson; 39 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
