William Charles Bixler
(March 21, 1925 - March 8, 2011)

Funeral services for Mr. William ``Bill'' Bixler, 85, will be 10AM Thursday at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Basco and Rev. Jerry Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at New Zion Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home Winnsboro.

Mr. Bixler was born on March 21, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed from this life on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Plantation Manor Nursing Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Bixler was a resident of Winnsboro, a member of New Zion Baptist Church and served with the U. S. Army during WWII.

He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Margaret Bixler, his 1st wife Katherine ``Kitty'' Bixler, 2nd wife Mary Bixler, great granddaughter Hannah Margaret Parks, great grandson Timothy Austin Parks and son-in-law Richard Platko.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law- Peggy and Ray Parks of Winnsboro, Janet and Sammy Saucedo of Harmony, NC, Patricia and Steve Frisbee of Weaverville, NC, Charlotte and Ronnie Joe Machen of Kelly, Debbie and Johnnie Brown of Winnsboro; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25, great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons DeWayne Machen, Chris Machen, Mark Parks, Timothy Parks, Paul Bernard and B. J. Bernard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Smith, Buddy Livingston, David Parks and Joey Richards.

Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday after 5pm until 8pm at the church.
