8-Year-Old Boy Fatally Wounded
MCINTYRE, La. (AP) -- A gun held by a 14-year-old playmate accidentally fired Sunday, killing 8-year-old William Savell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Savell of McIntyre, near Minden.
Webster Parish Coroner Dr. T. A. Richardson ruled the death accidental.
William C. Savell, eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Savell of McIntyre, near Minden, La., was accidentally shot to death early Sunday afternoon in the back yard of his home. Johnny Wright, 14, who received a new rifle for Christmas, had the rifle pointed at the youngster when it discharged. Wright said he forgot he loaded the gun. Webster Parish Coroner Dr. T. A. Richardson ruled accidental death.
