William Damon Hale
Funeral services for William Damon Hale, 55, of Waterproof will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009, 2 p.m. at Pentecostals of the Miss Lou in Ferriday. Rev. Gary Howington and Rev. Jeremy Howington will officiate.
Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in St. Joseph under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Hale was born January 4, 1954, in Newellton to Luther and Gladys M. Hale. He passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Ferriday after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hale had been a lifelong resident of Tensas Parish and a member of the Pentecostals of the Miss Lou in Ferriday. He was a dispatcher for Concordia Electric for seven years and had a rod and reel repair business, where he was known as “The Reel Man.” He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alonzo Hale; three sisters -- Mary Elizabeth, Vivian and Linda Hale; and a nephew, Gregory A. Vice.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Hale of Waterproof; daughter, Tammy A. Davidson of Vancleave, MS; two sisters -- Betty J. Vice and husband, Johnny, of Bossier City, and Brenda G. Hale and companion, Fred Allison; brother, Artha S. Hale and wife, Brenda, of New Orleans; two grandchildren -- Alex and Maria of Vancleave; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Wilkins Jr., Pat Wilkins III, Shawn Day, Lance Wilkins Sr., Michael Carpenter, Michael A. Johnson, Joe Blakely, and Steve Kelly.
