Services Held Last Tuesday For Silver City Resident
Services were held Tuesday, December 28th from the Silver City
Baptist Church for William Detress Savell, who passed away at his home
near Silver City on Dec. 24th.
Mr. Savell had been ill for sometime. He was 54 years of age and
was born in Russ [sic Rusk] County, Texas. He had been a resident of the Silver
City community for the past 15 years.
The services were conducted by Rev. Harold E. Walters and
interment was in the Silver City cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Savell; seven daughters,
Mrs. J. E. Hodges, Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. H. E. Walters, Greenville,
Mrs. T. M. Herring, Angelton, Texas, Joan Savell, Irene Savell,
Barbara Savell, Margie Kay Savell, all of Silver City; four sons,
James Savell of Fort Hood Texas, Clayton Savell, Gary Savell,
Harry Savell, all of Silver City; his mother, Mrs. Emma Fortune of
Silver City; and and [sic] four grandchildren.
Coleman Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
