William Johnson

Funeral services for William D. Johnson, 84, of 2212 Jerry St., West Monroe, were at 2 p.m. today at Fairfield Baptist Church near Dry Prong with the Rev. C. W. Aswell officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mr. Johnson died Sunday at Glenwood Hospital after a long illness.

A farmer, he was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Johnson of West Monroe; two sons, Le[o]nard Johnson and Huey Johnson, both of West Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hudgins, Mrs. Clydell Nelson, and Mrs. Estelle Doane, all of West Monroe, and Mrs. Mattie Jones of Lake Providence; three b[r]others, Robert Johnson of Colfax, Jim Johnson of Pineville, and Clint Johnson of Castor; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Bamburg of Coushatta and Mrs. Attie M. Cory of Bentl[e]y; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
