William E. “Ed” Looney
Jackson, SC -- Funeral Services for Mr. Ed Looney, 87, of Jackson, SC, who entered into rest February 10, 2017, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Don Shires and Dr. Mark Riser officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Park with Veterans Honors and Masonic Rites.
Mr. Looney was a native of Toccoa, Georgia, having made Jackson his home for the past 64 years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Looney was a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #127AFM and The American Legion Post #97 and was a retired E & I Mechanic with E. I. DuPont Company and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was the husband of the late Sue Wilkinson Looney.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Salley Looney; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Harvey Tollison and Cheryl and Tim Thompson all of Jackson; a grandson, Luke Thompson; step-children, Steven and Sheri Moore and their children, Rory Moore and Lila Moore and Shay and Allison Hillman all of North Augusta.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #127 AFM and The American Legion Post #97. Active Pallbearers will be John Smith, Tyler Meeks, Luke Thompson, Chester Meeks, Stacey Lewallen and Mike Bates.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 until 8.
