HALL, WILLIAM ELLIS (BILL) Age 74, of Concord, Alabama, died on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, due to cancer.
He was born on June 17, 1937, to the late Ellis Bolton “E.B.” and Helen McAfee Hall, living in West End and Homewood, Alabama, for many years. Bill was active at Concord Baptist Church, Bessemer, Alabama. He retired from Alabama Power Company in 1992, where he served as part of the Transmission and Substation Department.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Lowrey Hall, of Concord, Alabama; his sister, Mary Helen (Jerome) Sims of Trussville, Alabama, and his son, Ken Beasley of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Misty (Dewayne) Thompson of Hueytown, Alabama; Jonathon (Pam) Beasley of Sugarland, Texas; Megan (Kyle) Elrod of Memphis, Tennessee; Parker Beasley of Germantown, Tennessee, and Andy Bean of Germantown, Tennessee, his niece, Mary Alvice Davidson of Birmingham, Alabama and his sister-in-law, Jane Hall, of Birmingham, Alabama. Bill also has four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Charles “Buddy” Hall and George “Porgie” Hall.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, and on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Concord Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., also at Concord Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow at the adjoining cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to the service and remembrances may be made to the Concord Community Cemetery Fund, 5951 Warrior River Road, Bessemer, Alabama, 35023.
