William Emmett Martin Jr.

MARTIN, William Emmett Jr., 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on August 16th.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Addie Martin; daughters, Kay Sions and husband, Jim, of Richmond, and Jan Strom and husband, Gerry, of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Lauren Allen, Sarah Allen, Jennifer Sions and John Sions; sister, Carolyn Dravis of Ocean Springs, Miss.

Preceding him in death are his parents, William and Winnie Martin of Wiggins, Miss.; and his sister, Helen Parkman.

Mr. Martin was a Navy veteran of World War II, graduate of University of Southern Mississippi, salesman for his family's lumber business, and retired procurement officer for the U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon. He served as a docent at Stratford Hall and worked as a part-time librarian in Westmoreland County in his retirement years.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue, August 19, at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
