W. G. Hawthorne

JONESVILLE, La. -- William Grover Hawthorne, 78, died in a Jonesville hospital Sunday at 11:45 p.m. after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and a resident of Parhams.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today in the Parhams Baptist church with Rev. Don Thornton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Kinner-Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

Hawthorne is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Hawthorne; a daughter, Mrs. Anise Wadsworth of Natchez, Miss.; two sons, Herbert Hawthorne of Jena, and Ronald Hawthorne of Jonesville; a sister, Mrs. J. F. LaCroix of Wildsville; five brothers, Curtis Hawthorne of Jonesville, Grady Hawthorne of Memphis, Tenn., Charlie and Homer Hawthorne of Parhams and Aubrey Hawthorne of Springhill; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
