W. H. “Bill” Machen

Services for W. H. “Bill” Machen, who passed away on February 7, 2003 were held in the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, LA at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2003 with Rev. Matthew Wohlfarth and Rev. Malcolm Self officiating.

He was 90 years old and a 69 year resident of Jackson Parish. He worked 42 years at the Paper Mill in Hodge where he retired in 1972 as Superintendent of Maintenance for the entire mill. He served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Machen of Jonesboro, LA; one son, Jimmy Machen and wife Laura of Jonesboro, LA; two sisters, Sibyl Robinett of Nacogdoches, TX and Juanita Brown of Brandenton, FL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
