MECOM, WILLIAM H.

Died about 11 p.m. Friday as a result of a house fire in Corbin. He was 70, a resident of Corbin and a native of Columbia, La. He was a retired lawyer for the state government. Body at Hollabaugh-Spindle Funeral Home, Denham Springs, until 2:15 p.m. Sunday. Religious services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Walker Methodist Church. Burial in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Stafford Mecom, Corbin; and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Phillips, Baton Rouge and Mrs. Lynn Alford, Columbia.

He was a member of the Ingleside Methodist Church.
