William Henry Phillips

Funeral services for William Henry Phillips 91 year old Gilbert resident and retired farmer, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Coax Baptist church. The Rev. Lovelle Enterkin and Carter Hall officiated. Mr. Phillips who was born May 11, 1869 in Mississippi, was a member of Baskin Baptist church. He died October 2 at his home.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. B. C. Easterling, Polkville, Miss., and Mrs. O. G. Smith, Gilbert; six sons, Tommie, Merlie and Cufus Phillips, all of Polkville, Miss., Wallace Phillips of Mangham, Huey Phillips of Winnsboro and Lilo Phillips of Monroe; 34 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were C. H. Welch, Francis Lawrence, Eugene Vinson, Alfred Lee Phillips, Earl Phillips and Euzel Smith. Burial was in Coax Cemetery.
