William Herman Day
A retired Baton Rouge firefighter and residential painter, and an avid hunter, he died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs. He was 82, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Gloster, Miss.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Craft Dunaway. Graveside service at Day Family Cemetery, Gloster, at 2 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Fairy Day, of Watson; daughter and son-in-law, Marti and Terry LaBue, of Watson; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Theresa Day, of Watson; and four grandchildren, Shawn LaBue, and Dustin, Jessica and Nathan Day.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roy Day; a brother, Clyde Day; four sisters, Winnie Davis Whittington, Jane Brown, Helen Temple and Ruthie Wickwire; and parents, Fannie and Johnathan Day.
