Mr. W. J. O. Barfield Retired Taylor County Citizen, Dies at Home
While seated in his chair taking a comfortable rest on the porch of hims [sic his] home south of town occurred the death of Mr. W. J. O. Barfield, Saturday afternoon. He was born Dec. 12, 1872, son of the late Mr. Owen and Mrs. Armanda T. Barfield.
Mr. Barfield spent his entire life of 81 years in this county. Since early manhood until a short time prior to his death Mr. Barfield was engaged in farming in which he was regarded as quite successful and established a wide circle of warm friends.
Besides his wife, Mr. Barfield is survived by one sister, Mrs. Fred Bone and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral for the deceased occurred Friday, 4 p.m., with Rev. Oscar White, pastor of Bethlehem church in charge. Interment of the remains was in the cemetery nearby with a large gathering of friends in attendance. Pallbearers included close friends and nephews of the deceased. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
