William J. Semple Dies at Age of 67
William James Semple, 67, of Alexandria died at 12:30 a.m. today in an Alexandria clinic. He was the superintendent of the sewerage and plumbling department for the City of Alexandria before his retirement.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal church and of the Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Slocum of Alexandria; one daughter, Mr. Betty Joe Baggett of Elizabeth; two step-sons, William Dunn of Shreveport and Charles Dunn from Skiotook, Okla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Alice Lejeune of Alexandria and Mrs. Betty Turner of Joyce; four brothers, George Semple and Robert L. Semple of Alexandria; Earl Semple of Longview, Tex. an Henry C. Semple of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Gates and Mrs. L. L. Ryder, four grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Hixson Bros. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
