Final Rites Held For W. J. Harper
Final rites were conducted Sunday afternoon for W. J. Harper, 76-year-old Franklin parish leader, who succumbed early Saturday morning at his home in Crowville. He had been ill for an extended period.
Funeral services were from the Crowville Baptist church, with the Rev. C. S. Wroten officiating, and Masonic burial rites followed at the Crowville Masonic cemetery, where interment was made.
A large concourse of friends and relatives gathered to pay respects to the memory of the deceased, who was a long-time resident of this section.
Serving as pallbearers were Bailey Martin and N. L. Hower of Winnsboro, Arthur Riser, J. W. Byrd and Jake Netherland of Crowville and P. L. Dark of Monroe.
Mr. Harper is survived by four sons and four daughters; R. D., W. L. and J. A. Harper, all of Crowville; E. C. Harper, Mangham, Miss Alma Harper and Miss Essie Harper, Crowville; Mrs. W. A. Dunn, West Monroe, and Mrs. E. J. Street, Leesville.
Funeral arrangements were directed by Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
