WILLIAM L. WHITTINGTON

Funeral services for William L. Whittington, Sr., 69 of West Monroe were held today at Good Hope Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. M. J. Martin and Rev. F. L. Hearne officiating. Interment followed in Hasley cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.

Mr. Whittington is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Whittington; nine daughters, Mrs. C. G. Avant, Mrs. Cleo Deason, Mrs. James Read, Mrs. Marvin Deason, Mrs. James Pottinger and Miss Sue Whittington, all of West Monroe, and Mrs. R. R. Steen of Kelly, La., Mrs. E. E. Daniels of Downsville, and Mrs. DeWayne Browder of Los Angeles; three sons, William Lawrence Whittington, Jr., and T. N. Whittington, both of Los Angeles, and James E. Whittington of West Monroe; one sister, Miss Estelle Whittington of West Monroe; 31 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
