Mr. Freeman

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for William Laurence Freeman Jr., 79, of Kempner, who died Feb. 28, 2011, at his home.

He was born June 19, 1931, in Gloster, Miss., to William Laurence Freeman Sr. and Eunice Freeman.

Mr. Freeman retired from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant, and had been a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include daughters and their husbands, Audrey Louise and David McCarthy, and Phyllis Lynne and Kenneth Shearrow, all of Kempner; and Dorinda Lizette Clark of Waxahachie; a son, Jon Leslie Freeman of Kempner; five grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and a number of extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Louise Freeman, on July 30, 2010.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
