William Lee Freeman
Services for William Lee Freeman, 76, of Route 2, Summit, were held at 10 a.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Walter Leffler of Pisgah Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in Whittington Cemetery in Amite County.
Mr. Freeman died early Wednesday morning in Southwest Extended Care nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 19, 1906, in Franklin County, the son of the late Archie and Janie Graves Freeman. He was a highway construction inspector for J.W. Burt Engineering Co. and was a member of Johnston's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, A.J. Freeman and Laness Freeman, both of Summit; one daughter Mrs. Julius Myrtle Burt of Brookhaven; two brothers, Roy Freeman of Brookhaven and Mervin Freeman of Natchez; five sisters, Mrs. Lois Thorton of Natchez, Mrs. Omalee Wallace, Mrs. Grace Wallace and Georgie Jordan, all of Bogue Chitto, Billie Allred of Smithdale; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
