William L. Oxner

GRAYSON -- Funeral services were to be at 2 p.m. today in Old Bethel Baptist Church here for William Lee Oxner, 23, of Grayson.

Burial was to be in Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Oxner died Tuesday in a three-vehicle accident 12 miles west of here. He was the driver of a log truck which was struck by a pulpwood truck, which had swerved into his lane to avoid striking a third wood truck.

The third truck had stopped at a bridge on La. 126 to allow the Oxner truck to cross from the other direction.

Mr. Oxner is survived by his father, W. H. Oxner of Grayson; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Crowell of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Mrs. Marie Murphy of Monroe, Mrs. Ruth Fant of Ft. Benning, Ga. and Mrs. Ethyl McMullin [sic Ethel McMullen] of Columbia; three brothers, Frank Oxner of San Jose, Calif., John Oxner of Columbia and Charles Oxner of Grayson.
