William Louis Wardlaw

HALE CENTER - Memorial services for William Louis Wardlaw, 84, of Hale Center will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Norman Clayton officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center.

Mr. Wardlaw died in Amarillo on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.

He was born March 25, 1928, in Hale County to Roy Ethan and Harriett (Applewhite) Wardlaw. He married Georgia Belle Ligon in Hale Center. He was raised in Hale Center and owned and operated Fleur de Lis in Lubbock and The Bridal House in Plainview. He was a farmer, florist, caterer and business owner.

He was preceded in death by three sons and a brother.

Survivors include his wife Georgia Wardlaw of Hale Center; daughter, Holly Houk and husband Michael of Amarillo; brother Bobby Wardlaw and his wife Edna of Hale Center; sister Mary Etta Hammitt of Stephenville; and a grandson.
