CAMPBELL, WILLIAM M. JR.

William M. Campbell Jr., a retired attorney, died Monday of complications from cancer at his home. He was 81. Mr. Campbell was born in New Orleans and lived in Dadeville, Ala., for the past 14 years. He was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School, Louisiana State University and Loyola Law School. Mr. Campbell was a former member of St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville, Ala. He served as a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Brougher Campbell; three sons, William Matthew Campbell III and Thomas Brougher and Robert David Campbell of Silver Spring, Md.; two daughters, Carolyn Campbell of Monroe and Nancy Campbell; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Dadeville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Dadeville Cemetery. Langley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
