William Maurice Richmond Sr.

Funeral Services for Mr. William Maurice Richmond Sr., 74 of Columbia were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 1997 at the Riser and Son Funeral Chapel in Columbia with Rev. Mike Green officiating. Interment followed at the Fellowship Cemetery in the Ward 5 Community.

Mr. Richmond, the son of the late Jesse and Agnes Bedie Taylor Richmond, was born in Hebert on November 29, 1922 and died Monday, January 20, 1997 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

Maurice and Henrietta Richmond had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in July of 1996.

He was retired with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. He was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Corps.

He was preceded in death by his brother Elvin Richmond.

Survivors include: his wife, Henrietta Holmes Richmond of Columbia, two sons, W.M. ``Bill'' Richmond and Tim Richmond, both of Grayson; four daughters, Margaret McGraw of West Monroe, Pam Sanders of Grayson, Nancy Crockett of Grayson and Mary Rogers of Columbia; four sisters, Verna Denison of Clarks, Gladys McLain of Columbia, Myrtis Stapleton of Kelly, and Myrtle Sanders of Columbia; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Bryon Sanders, Travis Sanders, Recee Sanders, Crickett Crockett, Bobby Crockett, and Lucas Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers were Sam Sanders, Tommy Rogers, Matthew Richmond and Seth Richmond.
