William M. Bass

JONESVILLE - Services for William Maycel Bass will be at 2 p.m. today in Lake Lilly Baptist Church with the Revs. Frank Bass and Dale Patten officiating. Burial will be in Heard Cemetery, Manifest, under direction of Young's, Jonesville.

Bass, 74, of Jonesville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.

He was a retired mail carrier and a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church of Sandy Lake. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jason Jedde Bass and Queenie Rowena Bass and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Bass of Jonesville; two sons, Clifton Kerry Bass and Shane Bass, both of Jonesville; three daughters, Jane Buttz of Jonesville, Kathy Ferrington of Pineville and Carann Scroggs of Jena; one brother, Jason W. Bass of Joplin, Mo.; one sister, Mildred Brazell of Jonesville and 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Balance, Joey Bordelon, Joey Jennings, Kalon King, Tommy Porter and Maxie Taunton.
