William Oscar “Bill” Moore
GOODNIGHT -- William Oscar “Bill” Moore, 79, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Claude.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Clarendon Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse, minister of Hedley Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mr. Moore was born July 27, 1922, in Clarendon and had been a resident of Donley and Armstrong counties most of his life. He married Ella Marie Miller on Jan. 18, 1947, in Neodesha, Kan.
He later married Carroll Jean Morgan on Oct. 15, 1999, in Clovis, N.M. He was a rancher and was a member of Texas Cattle Ranchers Association and American Quarter Horse Association.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Bronze Star recipient. He was a member of Claude Church of Christ.
Casket bearers include Tim Mansfield, Mark Hall, Jim Oles, Jerrell Key, Bary Clower and Chris O'Neal.
Honorary bearers include Chris Melson, Steve Shaller and Steve Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his first wife on Sept. 25, 1997.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Barbara Jean Heady of Meade, Kan., and Debra Vogt, Dianne Hammer and Brenda Fields, all of Panhandle; three sons, Harold L. Moore of Stratford, Rodney Morgan of Amarillo and Bradd Morgan of Panhandle; three sisters, Iva Tucker of American Canyon, Calif., Ruth Nettles of Arizona and Florence Lavelle Buckley of Mountainaire, N.M.; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
