Mr. William Ray Pinkston

Mr. William Ray Pinkston, 69, of Crossett died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at the Hamburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born July 20, 1929, to Palmer and Bertie Wyatt Pinkston in Huttig, he served seven years in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 39 years and eight months and was a volunteer for the Crossett Fire Department for over 25 years and retired as assistant chief of the Crossett Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jean Pinkston of Crossett; a son, Kenneth Pinkston of New Orleans, LA; three daughters, Pam Pinkston of Crossett, Terri Pruett of Arkadelphia and Cecilia Strickland of Jacksonville; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Pinewood Memorial Park with Joe Johnson officiating. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
