MADDOX -- W. R. Maddox, 79, died Wednesday, April 20, 1949 at Boyce, at 10 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Maddox of Boyce, five daughters, Mrs. Mary Murrell of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Amanda Smith of Grayson, Mrs. Alma Murrell of Dry Prong, Mrs. Zadalee Doyle of Alexandria, and Mrs. Beulah Burks of Colfax, four sons, Lunnie Maddox of Dry Prong, Lonnie and W. S. Maddox, both of Pollock, and Johnnie Maddox, of Boyce, 17 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove church near Colfax with Rev. Jasper Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral home of Columbia.
