William Ronald “Ronnie” Temple
February 4, 1948 - June 3, 2012

Graveside services with military and masonic honors for William Ronald “Ronnie” Temple, 64, of Huntington will be held Thursday June 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pennington Cemetery in Trinity County with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mr. Temple was born February 4, 1948, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Jewell (Holland) Temple Barnett and the late Grover Cleveland Temple. He died Sunday, June 3, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Temple was retired from the Jasper County Sheriff's Department following 22 years of service. He also worked for the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company for 17 years. After retirement, he loved working in the yard. He loved the outdoors and music, and was an avid reader. Mr. Temple was a good Christian man, father and husband. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970 during Vietnam. He had lived in Huntington for the past year, and previously resided in Houston for 9 years.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Diane St. Andre of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Mark Lacy of San Antonio, Dawn Temple of Woodville, and Robyn Temple-Goodall and Brian Goodall of Spring; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Shanna and Eric Sliva of Cypress, Sylena and Scott Fraley of Bryan-College Station; numerous grandchildren; and mother, Jewell Barnett of Huntington.

Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his father, G.C. Temple, and stepfather, Ben Barnett.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
