MONTGOMERY, La. -- William Selby Rhodes, 73, of Montgomery died Sunday in a Natchitoches hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today in Union Hill Baptist church near Montgomery. Burial was to be in Mt. Zion cemetery under direction of Edmond's Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Rhodes is survived by his wife, Esther Branch Rhodes; a son, Ike Rhodes of Natchitoches; and two sisters, Sue Rhodes of New Orleans and Rosa Rhodes of Jonesboro.
