Whittington, William ``Bill''
A retired Allied Chemical Corp. employee with more than 22 years and a resident of Clinton, he died 1:02 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 65, a native of Amite County, Miss., and former resident of Baker. He was a member of Local 216 and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict.
Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Clinton, 3 to 10 p.m. Friday. Visiting at Whittington Memorial Methodist Church, north of Liberty, Miss., noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Mitch Harris. Interment in church cemetery.
Survived by wife, Maurine Herrington Whittington, Clinton; stepfather, J.C. Bowman, Clinton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam and Norvin Dubois, Baker, and Debbie Hebert, Central; a son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Darleen Huffstatler Whittington, Clinton; a sister, Treace W. Smith, Denham Springs; and eight grandchildren, Heidi Hebert, Central, Jacob Escue, Baker, William Whittington III, Clinton,Samantha Dubois, Baker, Steven Hebert, Central, Justin Whittington, Clinton, Cody Hebert, Central, and Tabatha Escue, Baker.
Preceded in death by parents, Jack and Nonie Way Whittington Bowman; a brother, J.P. Whittington; and a sister, Greate Herrington.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Herrington, Danny Cowan, Ken McKenzie, Jackie Whittington, Dennis Ellard and Norman Leonard.
He was a former member of Jeb Stuart VFW Post, Baker.
