William W. Buckelew, Jr.
William W. Buckelew died Monday, July 30, 2007 at the age of 70. He was a strong, hard working man who was brilliant, witty and dedicated.
One of his greatest joys was time spent in the mountains and at the home he and his wife designed and built themselves. Cookie, his wife of 25 years, his soul-mate and his friend will carry the memory of his strong hands and big heart with her forever.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mom, Myrtis Forte' who will miss his daily calls. His devoted daughters, Linda and Ressie who benefited from his guidance, wisdom and wit. Linda and her husband, Bill are from Austin, TX, Ressie and her husband, Don are from LaPlace.
Also left behind to morn are son, Dennis Normand and wife, Renee'.
He also leaves behind a brother, Armon Buckelew and wife, Barbara from Phoenix, AZ. Sister, Betty Able and her husband, Skippy from Alexandria. Granddaughters, Whitney & Courtney Ford from Austin, TX. Adrienne and Chelsea Albares from LaPlace, LA. Last but not least Devon ``Ocie'' Normand, who will lighten the heart of Granny Coo.
There are also many friends and acquaintances from his 35 years as a dedicated employee at Texas Gas and 15 years as an inspector. He truly enjoyed his work.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hixson Brothers, Pineville. A Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Craig McCain.
