WALLACE, WILLIAM WADE

WALLACE, WILLIAM WADE, of Miramar Beach, Florida, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away January 20, 2006. Mr. Wallace was born January 7, 1927, and is preceded in death by his parents, John Hop Wallace and Alberta Holley Wallace. He attended Woodlawn High School, Auburn University and Howard College (Samford University), where he played football and baseball. After retirement from the Birmingham Fire Department, he engaged in various business ventures in the Birmingham area. He served in the Alabama House of Representatives and was the Vice Chairman of the Jefferson County Delegation from 1971-1974. An avid Florida State Seminole fan, he rarely missed a football game, where he could be seen on the sidelines with lifelong friend, Bobby Bowden.

Wade is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Carol G. Wallace; son, W. Wade Wallace and wife, Danice of Miramar Beach; daughter, Alison Wallace Kerzic and husband, Lee of Birmingham; son, Dale Robin Wallace of Birmingham; and family friend, Christopher Stephen. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, 2006 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Roebuck Chapel. Childhood friend, Rev. David Luck, will officiate.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Hilton Weiner for his years of care and friendship and Tom Richardson for this thoughtfulness and help during their time of need.
