*Several undocumented researchers give Victoria's maiden name as Victoria CORBAN. However, the 1870 census provides no evidence for such a Victoria CORBAN, and her marriage record gives her maiden name as Victoria WHITTINGTON. It is assumed here that she was the daughter of Elam W. WHITTINGTON listed as V. WHITTINGTON in the 1870 census. This needs to be verified when death certificates for her children become available.
