William Walker Moore
William “Bill” Walker Moore, a resident of Louisburg, N.C., died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, N.C. He retired after working for more than 50 years as an electrician and member of IBEW Local 995.
Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Wednesday, July 27, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 28, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Pastor Charlie Watts and Pastor Don McGinnis. Burial will be at Azalea Rest Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Whisenant Moore; two daughters and their husbands, Karen Moore Redmond and Stanley, of Slaughter, Kathy Moore Harrison and Bill, of Louisburg; sister, Elinor Moore Early, of Huntsville, Ala.; brother, James Moore, of Florida; and two grandchildren, Andrew Moore and Mark Redmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Kathleen Moore; and son, Keith Moore.
Pallbearers will be Stan Redmond, Bill Harrison, Mark Redmond, Steve Early, Eddie Havard and David Redmond. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Smith, Jimmy Dorsey, Hubert Morris, Chuck Allman, and Freddy Armstrong.
He was a faithful member and deacon of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Louisburg, Tenn.
