Willie B. Perkins, 76

WINNSBORO -- Willie B. “Bill” Perkins, a retired vo-tech director, died Tuesday. The funeral is 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Winnsboro. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to noon today at Riser First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro, and from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church. Burial is at the Welcome Cemetery, Grayson.

Willie B. Perkins

Funeral services for Mr. Willie B. Perkins, 76, of Winnsboro, La. were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 1998 at First Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Dr. Harry Boyd and Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Masonic graveside rites were held at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, La. under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Perkins died Tuesday, November 17, 1998 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnsboro. He was a retired director of La. Technical College (Northeast La. Vocational School). Mr. Perkins was past president of Clarks Masonic Lodge #382, Winnsboro Masonic Lodge 3246 and a past Shriner. He was very active in youth sports in Winnsboro; charter member of Winnsboro Wildcats Booster Club, Dixie Youth Baseball umpire and a high school football referee.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bill David Perkins and a brother, Charles L. Perkins.

Survivors include his wife, Nelma Crain Perkins, Winnsboro, La.; five children, Ronald Perkins, Elm Grove, La.; Cindy Mohler and husband, James, Clarks, La.; Belinda McLemore and husband Sidney McLemore, Winnsboro, La.; M. Scott Perkins and wife Delores, Ruston, La.; Dena Hale and husband, Michael, Newellton, La.; one sister, Julia Brown and husband, Harold, Minden, La.; 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Hunter Hale, Lee Hale, Michael McLemore, Ryan McLemore, Sidney McLemore, James Mohler and Stetson Perkins.
