Willie J. Etheridge
Willie J. Etheridge, 85, a resident of Liberty, passed away April 13, 2014 at his residence near Liberty. He was born October 3, 1928, in Amite County, the oldest son of Quincy B. and Nellie Whittington Etheridge.
He was retired from the pipeline industry, a heavy equipment operator, and had also worked as a log truck owner/operator.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Seven sons: Willie Joe Etheridge and Brenda, Timothy Roy Etheridge and Sharon, Mark Etheridge, Nelson Dewayne Etheridge,Sr. and Deborah, Rodney Etheridge and Becky, Randy Etheridge, Michael Etheridge and Tracy. Four daughters: Frances Hayden and James, Patsy Whittington, Teresa Burns and Jimmy, and Shelia Buie and Smithie; 20 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. Three brothers: Paul Etheridge and Eloise, Milford Etheridge and Terry, and Thomas Etheridge and Nell. Four sisters: Essie Alred, Faye Etheridge, Iris Rouchon and C.J. and Pauline Huhn and Eddie.
A sister-in-law: Mona Etheridge, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years, Norma Jean McKey Etheridge on September 8, 2013, and four brothers, Nelson Etheridge, Quincy Etheridge Jr., Milton Etheridge, and Hosea Etheridge, and one sister: Marlene Etheridge.
Visiting will be at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster,Ms. , Tuesday, 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Also visiting Wednesday, 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery in Liberty, Ms. Officiated by Rev. Doug Akins.
Mr. Etheridge's grandsons will be pallbearers.
