Willie E. Owers

HORNBECK -- Services for Willie Estie Owers will be at 2 p.m. today in Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Doyle Carpenter and Kenneth Baggs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson, Leesville.

Owers, 77, of Hornbeck died at 10:30 p.m. Friday in Willis Knighton Hospital, Shreveport.

He was a native of Hornbeck. He was also a retired firefighter for the Louisiana Forestry Commission.

Survivors include three stepsons, James M. Green Sr. of New Llano; Gordon Green of Belmont and Robert L. Green of Waterville, Me.; two stepdaughters, Mary G. Ellzey of Leesville and Ann G. Campbell of Spiro, Okla.; two sisters, Nancy Owers of Hornbeck and Frances Loftin of Leesville; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until noon today in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of services today in the church.
