W. L. Jackson dies; rites at 2:30 Wednesday

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home chapel for W. L. “Bill” Jackson, 71, of 1801 Edwards St., who died Monday afternoon at Methodist Hospital. Rev. Garland McInnis and Rev. W. N. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Dixie Community Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born in Amite County May 4, 1901, and came to Hattiesburg in 1922. A carpenter and contractor, he was a member and former financial secretary of the Carpenters Local in Hattiesburg.

Survivors are his wife, a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Raymond Bourg of Ocean Springs, two grandchildren, Raymond III and Lisa Bourg; a brother, Cliff Jackson of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
