W. M. Jowers Dies After Short Illness

Willie M. Jowers, 58, of Winnfield died Friday, April 11, 1975 in a local hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Southern Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Wayne Latch officiating. Burial was in Summerfield Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Jowers of Winnfield; one son, Bill Jowers of Houma; one daughter, Jo Ann Jowers of Montgomery; stepmother, Mrs. Elvie Jowers of Montgomery; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Williams of Montgomery, Mrs. Rilla McQuillian of Ball, Mrs. Vern Antee of Colfax, and Mrs. Eloise Lavespere of Shreveport; two stepsons, Jesse Branch of Montgomery, and Cargle Branch, Jr. of Winnfield; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Francis Freeman of Winnfield and Mrs. Eloise [sic Elsie] Laurent of Campti, and seven grandchildren.
