Mr. Willie O. Thomas
SAREPTA, LA - Services for Mr. Willie O. Thomas, 77, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 1995 at the New Sarepta Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Teutsch and Rev. Marty Wright. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill.
Mr. Thomas, a native and lifelong resident of this area, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 1995 in Shreveport after a short illness. He was a service station owner-operator in Sarepta retiring after 46 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Eighth Air Corps. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Cotton Valley Masonic Lodge #335 F&AM and member of the Banks-Strong VFW Post #166.
He is survived by his wife with whom he had celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on October 29, 1994, Eileen Jones Thomas; a son, Gary W. Thomas of Lafayette, La. and his wife Theresa; two daughters, Pat Lindsey of Bossier City and Jennifer Thomas McGrew of Sarepta and fiance' Tommy Charles; grandchildren, Shane Lindsey, Nikki Lindsey, Christoper Wood, Brandon McGrew and Lacey McGrew.
Pallbearers will be Dale Matthews, Charles Neal, Terry Green, Douglas Cater, Jennings A. “Pete” Charles and Mike Holley.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Reeve, C. G. "Buck" Alford, Fulton "Pete" Carr, Johnny Paxton, Robert Slack, Curtis Morgan, Logan Weible and Booker T. Chapman.
Mr. Thomas, a loving husband, father and grandfather, will be remembered for his many contributions to the community.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Gurleen Sikand and the Willis Knighton 5 West Nursing Staff for their unfailing care and kindness.
