WILLIE R. McCARTY

WAYNESBORO, Miss. -- Willie R. McCarty, 65, well known and esteemed resident of Chicora Community and former GM&O Railroad employe, died suddenly at his home Wednesday morning. He had been to his barn and was closing the gate when he suffered a heart attack. Verdict of a coroner's jury, headed by W. W. Freeman, was death by natural causes.

Mr. McCarty was a member of the Church of God of Waynesboro.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mamie Hollingshead McCarty; two sons: Joe and Curtis McCarty, both of Mobile, Ala.; and a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Mallory, also of Mobile.

Services were to be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Family residence with burial in the family cemetery at the residence under direction of Freeman Funeral Home.
