Willie T. Hinton

Willie T. Hinton, Sr., 83, of Downsville, died at 10:28 p.m. Saturday at Alpine Nursing Home in Ruston, after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Downsville, La. and a member of the Downsville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Monday, March 26) at the Downsville Baptist Church with Rev. H.L. Sampson officiating, assisted by Rev. Clyde Averelle. Interment will be in Downsville Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's of Ruston.

He was a member of the Downsville Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by four sons, Clark A. Hinton of Sulphur, Willie T. Hinton Jr. of West Monroe, Roy M. Hinton of Lafayette and Max Hinton of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Mae H. Hammons of Downsville; one brother, James P. Hinton of Downsville; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
