Willis Marion McGee
Willis Marion McGee, age 88, of Jackson passed away Friday, November 13, 2009, at his home.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway with burial following at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday before the service.
Mr. McGee was born in Chunky, MS to the late Walter Marion & Alma Griffin McGee. He served in the United States Navy and was a proud Republican. Mr. McGee graduated from Mississippi State University and was a member of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association.
He was married for 62 years to Helen Slaughter McGee, a school teacher retired from Jackson Academy. Willis and Helen joined Broadmoor Baptist Church in 1953 and raised their children there.
Mr. McGee worked for New York Life Insurance Company for over 50 years and was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He also was a Master Mason with 65 years of service.
His greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a daughter, Brenda Marion McGee.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Slaughter McGee of Jackson, MS, two daughters, Margie McGee Hill and her husband Jim of Canton, MS and Susan Lynne McGee of Pearl, MS, two grandchildren, Ronnie Johnson of Madison, MS and Amy Friday and her husband Forrest of Madison, MS, five great grandchildren, Olivia Johnson, Maggie Johnson, Hunter Friday, Reese Friday and Kitty Friday all of Madison, MS.
