Funeral services for Wilma Christine Farris, age 92, formerly of Bernice, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Weldon Baptist Church in Bernice, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Robert Davis. Interment will follow at Weldon Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Mrs. Farris was born November 28, 1918 and went to her heavenly home to be with our Lord on September 17, 2011 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center.

Mrs. Farris was an avid reader and loved to read and study her Bible. She also enjoyed TV game shows. For many years she worked the daily newspaper crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished cook and loved baking all kinds of delicious goodies. In her later years, Mrs. Farris learned to crochet and made several lovely afghans and other items. Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Farris, her parents, John A. and Rettie Lee, her brother, Ershal Lee, sister, Janet Brown and a granddaughter, Kayla Taylor.

Mrs. Farris is survived by two sons; Warren Taylor and wife, Connie, of Jackson Mississippi, and Walter Taylor and wife Theresa of El Dorado Arkansas, two daughters, Christine Johnson and husband Troy of Ruston, Louisiana and Elizabeth Bruce and husband Kenon of Rogers, Arkansas, Mrs. Farris is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a number of great great grandchildren, and cousins and a host of love ones and friends.

The family gives special thanks to Dr. Grigsby and Dr. Finley.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday September 19, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
